The drive offers scenic views of rolling hills, rural landscapes, and local communities, giving you a glimpse into everyday life in Rwanda. Upon arrival, you will check in at your lodge and enjoy lunch before heading out for an afternoon boat safari on Lake Ihema, one of the park’s most scenic highlights. The experience is both relaxing and exciting, setting the tone for your wildlife adventure.

Day 3: Game Drive in Akagera – Big Five Experience

This day is dedicated to exploring the vast landscapes of Akagera National Park through an early morning game drive, when wildlife activity is at its peak. As the sun rises over the savannah, you will venture deep into the park in search of iconic species including elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, and, if you are lucky, elusive leopards. The park’s varied ecosystems, from open plains to wetlands and woodlands, provide diverse habitats that support a wide range of animals and bird species. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation, enjoying the tranquil surroundings before heading out again for an optional evening game drive, which offers another opportunity to spot wildlife in the golden light of sunset.
