Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Welcome to Uganda
Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by your safari guide who will transfer you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may explore Entebbe town or relax at your hotel as you prepare for your adventure ahead.

Day 2: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
After breakfast, set off for Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and oldest conservation area. Stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided rhino tracking experience before continuing to Murchison Falls. Visit the top of the falls and witness the powerful Nile River forcing its way through a narrow gorge before plunging into the pool below.

Day 3: Game Drive and Boat Cruise on the Nile
Begin your day with an early morning game drive on the northern side of the park. Look out for elephants, giraffes, lions, buffaloes, antelopes, and perhaps a leopard. After lunch, enjoy a scenic boat cruise along the Nile to the base of Murchison Falls, where you’ll see hippos, crocodiles, and colorful water birds.

Day 4: Drive to Kibale National Park
After breakfast, travel south through the scenic countryside toward Kibale National Park. The drive offers beautiful views of rolling hills, tea plantations, and rural homesteads. Arrive in the tranquil town of Fort Portal in the evening and check in at your lodge.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Wetland Walk
Today, head into Kibale Forest for an unforgettable chimpanzee tracking experience. Follow experienced guides as you search for these playful primates. Listen for their calls and observe them as they feed and swing through the treetops. In the afternoon, explore Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-managed conservation area rich in birdlife and primates.

Day 6: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Evening Game Drive
After breakfast, depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most visited wildlife destination. Arrive in time for an evening game drive through the Kasenyi plains where you can spot elephants, buffaloes, lions, and antelopes.

Day 7: Morning Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise
Wake up early for a morning game drive to look for big cats and other wildlife. Expect to see hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, and numerous bird species along the shoreline.

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha Sector

Day 9: Gorilla Tracking Experience in Bwindi Forest
After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your gorilla tracking adventure. Accompanied by experienced rangers, trek through the forest to find a gorilla family. Once found, spend an incredible hour observing their daily behavior as they play, feed, and interact. Return to your lodge for a relaxed evening surrounded by the sounds of the forest.

Day 10: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Day 11: Drive to Lake Mburo National Park – Evening Game Drive

Day 12: Walking Safari and Boat Ride on Lake Mburo

Day 13: Return to Entebbe – Departure
After breakfast, begin your return journey to Entebbe. Stop at the Equator line for memorable photos and an opportunity to shop for local crafts. Arrive in Entebbe later in the afternoon where your safari concludes with a transfer to the airport for your departure flight.

Relaxing cruise ~ Lake Bunyonyi Aug 2024 • Solo I took a very informative boat cruise on the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi as part of our 17 day safari. We sailed the stunning waters of Lake Bunyonyi passing many of the 29 islands. My guide was Stuart who was very knowledgeable about the area, sharing the stories associated with each island. Stuart has an interest in photography, so he made sure that we stopped so I could take shots of the wildlife and birds.
